This recipe is not just Bacon on top of hot fudge, oh no people. It’s Bacon cooked right in so get ready for euphoria. Growing up my mom always made hot fudge for ice cream, she uses the recipe from my grandmother. When I called my mom to get the recipe I asked her about adding Bacon, at first she was perplexed, then she wanted to book a flight and come try this new creation with her grandkids. Mom, book that flight, I love your hot fudge, but this just took it to a whole new level of rich flavor goodness. It was so good my daughter asked for it for breakfast. Um, sorry kid I ate it all after you went to bed:)
Bacon Hot Fudge:
6 oz of semi sweet baking chocolate or 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/8 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
6-8 slices of crisp cooked bacon chopped up into small bits.
Combine the semi sweet chocolate, milk, sugar and maple syrup in a medium saucepan and heat over low. Stir constantly until chocolate melts, do not bring to a boil. When the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth, add 3/4 of the bacon and stir. Remove from heat and allow to cool enough to eat. Pour over ice cream and sprinkle the top with the remaining bacon pieces.
